First we had demand to download Vine Videos, now we have demand to download Instagram videos. So, how do you download a video from Instagram on your computer? Actually, it’s quite simple!
The process of downloading a video from Instagram depends slightly on your browser. Below, I go through how to download an Instagram video in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari without using any extensions.
The first step, regardless of browser, is to navigate to the video page. If you are on your Instagram timeline, click on the “More Options” button (three dots) and select “View Video Page”.
Google Chrome
- Right click on video and select “Inspect Element”.
- Find the .mp4 video link and click on it.
- In the window that opens up after clicking the link, right click on the video and click “Save Video As…”.
- Name your video and you’re done!!
Mozilla Firefox
- Right click on video and select “Inspect Element”.
- Find the .mp4 video link and copy it (CTRL+C) and paste it (CTRL+V) into a new tab.
- In the window that opens up, right click on the video and click “Save Video As…”.
Name your video and you’re done!!
Internet Explorer
- Right click on video and select “View Source”.
- Find the .mp4 video link and copy it.
- Open Goo.gl (or any other site where you can paste the site link). In Goo.gl, paste the URL into the shortener. Right click on the ORIGINAL link (should be in the color green) and click on “Save Target As..”.
- Name your video and you’re done!!
Safari
- Right click OUTSIDE of video and select “View Source”.
- Find the .mp4 video link and copy it.
- Open Goo.gl (or any other site where you can paste the site link). In Goo.gl, paste the URL into the shortener. Right click on the ORIGINAL link (should be in the color green) and click on “Download Linked File As..”.
- Name your video and you’re done!!
